Run longer tests and control test durations with AWS Device Farm

You can now limit the maximum number of device minutes that your AWS Device Farm test runs can use by setting a timeout on each device. You can also request that your maximum timeout be extended beyond the default of 60 minutes, allowing you to run longer workloads on real Android and iOS devices in the AWS Cloud. If execution exceeds your timeout, execution on that device will be forcibly stopped, and partial results will be available if possible.

Elastic Load Balancing support for TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 Pre-defined Security Policies

We are pleased to announce support for three new pre-defined security policies ELBSecurityPolicy-TLS-1-1-2017-01, ELBSecurityPolicy-TLS-1-2-2017-01 and a default security policy, ELBSecurityPolicy-2016-08 for the Application Load Balancer to support your TLS workloads. The new policies give you the flexibility to pick the TLS ciphers and protocols for your workloads on the Application Load Balancer.

Amazon API Gateway is a fully managed service that makes it easy for developers to create, publish, maintain, monitor, and secure APIs at any scale. Amazon WorkSpaces now use solid-state drives (SSD) at no additional cost

Starting today, all new Amazon WorkSpaces will use general purpose SSD Elastic Block Store (EBS) volumes at no additional cost. SSD EBS volumes provide superior I/O performance when compared to magnetic volumes, which results in improved application start times, boot times and a better user experience when running applications sensitive to disk latency.

Amazon Elasticsearch Service free tier now available on t2.small.elasticsearch instances

For customers in the AWS Free Tier, Amazon Elasticsearch Service now offers a choice of instance types between t2.micro.elasticsearch and t2.small.easticsearch instances. With this release, the service provides customers in the AWS Free Tier, free usage of up to 750 hours per month of a single-AZ t2.micro.elasticsearch or t2.small.easticsearch instance and 10GB per month of optional EBS storage (Magnetic or General Purpose).
